Course Curriculum
Hi, I'm Karen!
Doctor of physical therapy
Board certified orthopedic specialist
"There are so many things in life you can't control. I believe recovering from injury or pain does not have to be one of them! I understand first hand how a physical injury takes away more than just what you can do physically... but it makes you question your purpose, your value and your confidence.
I have helped hundreds of people rehab from their injuries when I was a traditional physical therapist working in a clinic. There is nothing more rewarding than helping you return to your sport, your hobby or your life. But the ones that are most successful in their recovery and excel once back to their sport (with no re-injury) are not the ones that just followed what I told them and fully recovered physically. But are the ones who actively take part in their recovery, learn what was going on in their bodies and understand what is being done to fix it. This understanding takes away your fear and gives you a sense of control.
My number 1 goal became to help people ease their fear in relation to their injury while building their sense of power, control and self confidence."
FAQ
Do I need certain exercise equipment?
• At a minimum you need exercise bands. It is nice to have some weights but is not necessary
Who is this course NOT for?
• This course is not for anyone who had shoulder surgery within the last year or is in severe amounts of pain. If you are not sure and would like to discuss on the phone about your current situation email me at [email protected]
Can I use my health insurance to pay for the course?
• Although I am a physical therapist, this course does NOT constitute as physical therapy. It is simply a strength and conditioning program with the focus on healthy shoulders. Therefore you can not use your health insurance to pay for the course.
Do I need a certain level of skill or knowledge of exercise to be successful?
• You can be successful with any skill level of exercise. There are written directions as well as demonstration videos for all exercises on correct form and technique. However, you must be somewhat comfortable with watching a movement and trying it on your own as this course is self paced. If you are someone that prefers having a professional watch your form during exercise it is suggested to complete your treatment plan with your personal trainer.
